Canlan Ice Sports Offers Hockey and Sports Camps
Summer is just around the corner and the kids will be out of school before you know it. Keep them busy and active this summer at Canlan Ice Sports in Oshawa.
Canlan Ice Sports is offering hockey and sports camps all summer long. The camps are designed to help improve the kids’ skills and confidence and best of all, to have fun!
For kids who have never been on the ice, Can Ice Sports has a Learn to Skate Camp designed for children ages four to six. At this camp, skating skills are broken down to the simplest form so that players can understand, in a fun and positive environment.
The Skating, Shooting and Scoring Camp helps players aged seven to 11 improve their overall scoring ability. In addition to skating, shooting and scoring, the camp will also focus on passing, receiving and conditioning. With professional on-ice instruction, this camp is aimed to improve the player’s individual skills and allow them to take their game to the next level. During the camp, players will also practice their fakes, moves and shooting techniques on and off the ice to compliment their existing skills.
The Hockey Tips for Tots Camp is designed for children from four to six years old, and is Canlan Ice Sports’ longest running and most popular camp. It is ideal for children with minimal hockey experience, and teaches the basics of the fame in a positive and fun environment. The children are put into groups according to their skill level and will learn individual skills and have fun playing the fame. Activities will include powerskating, puck handling, passing, receiving and shooting as well as a variety of off-ice games and activities.
The Powerskating and Hockey Skills Camp is one of the most popular summer camps at Canlan Ice Sports. Designed for intermediate house league players, this camp allows kids to vastly improve their on ice skills. There is also a Girls Only Powerskating and Hockey Skills Camp.
Goalies can sharpen their skills at the Goaltender Training Camp, designed for children ages seven to 14.
Canlan Ice Sports also has a variety of camps available off the ice.
The Extreme Ball Sports Camp introduces the kids to a variety of different popular sports such as kickball, flag football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, handball, touch rugby, lacrosse and more. This camp is available for children aged six to 12.
Continue the excitement of the Olympics at Olympic Spirit Week, which introduces the kids to sports that are currently played in the Olympics, such as baseball, ice hockey, speed skating and track and field. Kids will also learn how to play Paralympic sports such as sledge hockey, goal ball and sitting volleyball.
The Ultimate Survivor Week will be the essential test for any camper. This camp is full of action packed fun! Players will be split into tribes, tested on their individual thinking and team work and will include scavenger hunts, outdoor expeditions, food challenges, individual and team challenges, team building activities and sports.
Let your kids cool off at Wacky Water Week. Campers will enjoy balloon relays, water obstacle courses, water balloon touch football and water balloon volleyball in addition to a variety of sports, team building activities and games.
