Located in the Villages of Abbey Lane on the Pickering-Toronto border and designed by Andrew Pike (Host of the HGTV show, Rooms that Rock, and formerly of the HGTV show Design Rivals), the fully accessible centre features two state-of-the-art kitchens able to accommodate up to 24 people at a time. The facility also designed for accommodating parties and special events starting at just $229 for eight children for one and a half hours. The basic package includes individual pizzas and cupcakes prepared, baked and decorated by the guests. In an effort to make the process as seamless and stress-free as possible for busy parents there are packages that include invitations, thank you cards, and loot bags. Popular themes like Outdoor Campfire, Off to Outer Space and Princess Tea Party have been a hit.
One of the more unique offerings is the Spa party where guests make their own avocado masks, oatmeal scrubs along with infused bath salts while they enjoy finger sandwiches and lemon scones. Another popular theme is the Iron Chef competition which includes authentic Chefs uniform, judges and a secret ingredient!
Overseen by professional chefs, Rising Chefs offers a wide range of programming to suit the needs of all children. From classes for pre-schoolers to school field trips and after-school programs to groups and organizations such as Brownies, Guides, Scouts, Beavers, Big Brothers/Sisters to sports teams the center’s aim is to educate children in the culinary arts while allowing them to explore and to be creative. “Our goal with each child is to encourage them to explore and expand their food choices while leaving them feeling great about themselves and what they have achieved,” said Tracey Manne, owner and operator of Rising Chefs.
To further engage children and immerse them in the art of cooking, Rising Chefs will also offer a one-of-a-kind cooking club. Children will receive monthly recipes accompanied by dry ingredients shipped directly to their homes. Clients will also be able to purchase gift certificates for the club.
