‘Mommy’, said my son, ‘you need to sign my agenda.’ And he then hid behind the drapes.
It didn’t take me long to figure out why he was hiding.
“Your son will be staying indoors during recess today and the entire day tomorrow for being disrespectful. He can explain it to you,” wrote his teacher.

“It’s cold outside. Wear a coat.” I am sure these words reached my young son’s ears, but they passed through his head faster than a hot chili dinner passes through your digestive tract. He’s going to school without a jacket – again. I know that the teachers think I’m the world’s worst mom for letting him run around coatless in April, but they don’t know my boy. This kid can learn via one method only. He must experience things first hand. Taking my word for it, or anyone else’s for that matter, is not possible for this child. The only way that he will put on a coat if it is cold outside today is if he froze his little tush off by not wearing enough clothes yesterday.
