A+ Tutoring is a personalized, privatized and developmental program for French immersion students Grade 3 to Grade 8, where tutors are 100 per cent committed to the success of every student. Offering two hours of personalized tutoring twice a week which includes 30 minutes of review and an additional 30 minutes of work dedicated on a specific "difficult" subject.
All students are tutored by French immersion honour students who have surpassed the difficulties of the French immersion program and know its demands, and who are always enthusiastic, patient, understanding and fun!
A+ Tutoring is the only French immersion tutoring program/business in the Durham Region. Unlike most tutoring centres, which offer a variety of subjects in English including math, reading and writing, A+ Tutoring focuses on them in French. “We incorporate all the components needed for success,” says owner and tutor Kayla McKesey, adding, students get the opportunity to get help with homework, as well as doing cumulative review so that everything they learn is retained. “Students get special attention in a specified area of difficulty as well as taking part in interactive group activities that are fun and strengthen their French oratory skills. This program is designed to make students get the most of their French immersion studies.” With a thoroughness that goes beyond simply helping students with their homework, A+ Tutoring can help your child excel in any subject. “In my experience as a personal tutor, I’ve found there is only time to get homework corrected and help the students prepare for a test,” says McKesey. “However, with this program, students are set on the road to success because they get everything a private tutor would give them plus extra attention in specified areas, review and fun group activities that will give them the chance to practice speaking and applying what they’ve learned. Our incorporation of group activities which strengthen the kids’ speaking and thinking skills gets them motivated about French, which is very uncommon in tutoring programs.”
